Charlie Clover Reflects As 2015 Season Comes to a Close
Posted on 11 September 2015
With the 2015 season coming to a end and only a handful of events left, now is a good chance to look back and reflect on the 2015 season. My two main horses, King and Monkey, have now finished their season as they have been competing at 3* and advanced all season so are ready for a good holiday. Next year is my last year in Young Riders so I will be aiming for a great season and hopefully team selection!
I have two younger horses that started the season later as needed more preparation and time to be able to grow and then compete. Both have done well in there BE100 runs so far this year, including a 3rd and 1st from BGS Twin Peaks.
Melford Solo owned by Sue Samon is this seasons most consistent winner. Whilst we discovered Intermediate was possibly a step too far for the mare she has really found her feet at novice level and picked up our first international win at Chillham Castle earlier in the year. All of Helen Frances horses have been running well, Louis and Maddie took 2nds in the novice sections at Little Downham and Maddie in particular has shown real promise with some fantastic results, one to watch for next season!
We have a couple of exciting new horses in the yard at the moment, who are here to compete with the intention of being sold once ready. Luna owned by Mossy Warmsey will compete in 2 or 3 pre novices this season and Rosie Hunkins Irish Air will have the winter to train before staring to compete next season.
All in all the year has more or less gone to plan with the ups and downs of eventing. Now I just need to try and finish 2015 with a flourish!
