Bomber Loose Ring Snaffle

Bomber Bits are one of the most innovative bits available on the market, made with Sweet Iron they are designed to reduce pressure and resistance within the horses mouth and especially designed to create more room around the tongue. Designed by Nel Bomber and individually handcrafted in his native South Africa the loose rings are designed to give the horses the most comfortable feeling possible. Our Snaffle mouthpiece is popular due to the curved mouthpiece which distributes pressure more evenly over the tongue and bars. With the offset centre link it will reduce nutcracker action and pressure points on the tongue.

The Loose ring then allows immediate release and relief from the tongue and bar pressure which resets the bit gently into the horses mouth. All of the bits are made from Sweet Iron as it oxidises easily, encourages the horse to salivate and therefore accept the contact. It is also warm and sweet tasting in their mouth giving them a pleasant feel. As the bit uses sweet iron the blue colouring will fade over time.

Sweet Iron will rust when it comes into contact with moisture. The surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production which encourages better acceptance of the bit. This oxidising process turns the bit from blue to a brown/grey. If the bit is not used for a while it might develop an orange colour, this can simply be wiped away with a damp cloth. The Snaffle is exclusive to Forelock and Load and is legal under BE and BD rules

I have a couple of the bomber bits. I use the snaffle the most and have honestly never had a horse not get on really well with it. They love them!
Transformed one of my top horses dressage, would hardly take a contact before and made test riding near impossible but the bomber bit changed this altogether
