Start of the BE Season!
HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY ELLIE!!!
We’ve had a great start to the season. Luckily we have managed to have the best of the weather so far. We headed to Moreton Horse Trials for our first event of the season. Although the dressage arenas and parts of the xc were a bit muddy, we were lucky enough to have the best of it as the event was sadly cancelled the following day. Despite the mud, we had a pleasing dressage score of 31.5, which I was very happy with as the first one out! We then had a rider error pole in the showjumping, but a fabulous clear xc. I took my time and set up for each fence- luckily I didn’t go much faster because as I was coming up to the last few fences, I saw the rider in front of me was still jumping the fence I was about to jump! We went home with big smiles after an awesome first event of the season.
Next up was Tweseldown. Despite the warm up filled with professional riders, we kept our cool. Frustratingly, we didn’t have quite the dressage that we wanted- but that’s horses! We then went on to have a really classy double clear and meant we came away with a 10th place rosette. Onwards to our next event which is South of England novice. Clover wears LeMieux Stealth xc boots. The new Stealth XC Boots will be available from Forelock and Load from the end of April. These are absolutely brilliant as they don’t slip or move whatsoever whilst you’re on course. They provide good protection and also fit really nicely. I also have my Tredstep Donatello boots on for competition; these are fab as you can get a real shine from very little polishing…! Mine are coming up to 3 years old now and are still going strong. Clover is also absolutely loving her new Mark Todd studgirth that came (very quickly!) from Forelock and Load as her Xmas present. The shaping fits really nicely and allows a greater range of movement than her previous one; I can feel such a difference already.
We cannot wait for our next event and we look forward to reporting back!
