Polly Mountford is a Suffolk based event rider and sports horse producer.
Prior to setting up her own yard, Polly spent three years apprenticing on both sides of the pond. In 2015 Polly worked as a rider and groom for Buck Davidson in Florida, experiencing life on a 60 horse eventing yard. Buck recommended Polly to former World Number 1 Andrew Nicholson (whom she remains good friends with) and Polly worked for Andrew for two years until 2017. Leaving Andrew’s yard was a big step, but he told Polly “you have learnt all I can teach you, now it’s time to do it yourself” so, she returned to Suffolk and founded Mountford Sport Horses. MSH’s sources quality young horses to train and bring on as future champions.
Polly currently competes at CCI4* International Level – her aim is to compete for her country, ideally on horses which she has trained herself from their first baby steps to the foot of international podiums. Polly’s beautiful riding and endless patience really does give the horse’s she produces the best chance in life.
Polly is based on the beautiful 11,000 acre Euston Estate in Suffolk and offers a range of different services including.

All of Polly’s horses are turned out every day and she has an abundance of grazing on the estate. Her yard has 11 light and airy stables, all weather arena, large horse walker, hot water/solarium, gallops and show jumps/cross country fences.
