The Iron

The GC2 stirrups weigh in at 800g and they are manufactured from a hot forged single piece steel core and coated with an environmentally sourced polyamide material. Along with seasonal colours, there are 11 frame colours to choose from. If you lose a stirrup, it can be challenging to locate and get your foot back in whilst maintaining your balance. The offset stirrup leather slots are designed to help make this quicker and more intuitive.

The Tread

The foot bed can either be flat or inclined and this really is rider specific. We have noticed much greater sales for the inclined foot bed. This could be as it helps you to keep your heels down and in turn increasing stability and helping the rider’s leg position. The foot bed is available in 3 colours. The standard Grip is made from moulded plastic to help prevent your boot slipping. The Ultra Grip also features the moulded plastic with the addition of crimped pins made from hardened steel.

Elastomer Springs

The elastomer spring technology Flex-On uses, provides a cushioning effect that helps absorb shock and reduce strain on the rider’s joints during riding. The elastomers are available in 17 different colours which add a personalized and stylish touch to your riding equipment. It is quite hard to explain how much impact and vibration the elastomers absorb, you really do need to ride in these stirrups to feel for yourself!

Magnetic Stickers

The magnetic stickers offer 150 different designs of varying degree of fun! We think these are a great way to personalise your irons and you can be as brave as you like!

Safe-On

The Safe-On stirrup is a market leading safety stirrup. The single branch spring steel frame like the GC2 offers increased comfort and performance, the Safe On features a releasable arm. Forelock and Load offers a hire service for you to try Safe On stirrups before you buy. You can design your bespoke Safe On stirrups here and then contact us to order them for you.

Key benefits
  • All of the benefits of the GC2 listed above, are also found with the Safe On Stirrups
  • Releasable safety arm
  • Safe On’s weigh 1kg
  • Customisable magnetic stickers (these are not interchangeable with the GC2)

The Stirrups

The Safe On combines all the innovative features of the GC2 stirrup with the addition of the releasable safety arm.

Safety Branch

The safety arm of the Safe-On comes in 17 different colours, so you can really personalise your stirrups. In the event of the fall, the safety arm breaks away from the foot bed to allow the rider’s foot to fall away easily. It is important to know, that if you push your weight to the outside of your stirrup if you’re trying to balance yourself, due to the design, the stirrup arm will not pop open. You can view our Resetting your Safe On stirrup blog HERE.

Safe-On Junior

The Safe-On Junior packs the same punch as the adult version but has been scaled down for young riders. The adult stirrups have too much room from the foot bed to the offset stirrup leather slots, for children. With this in mind Flex-On created the Junior! We offer these stirrups for HIRE. These stirrups are can be fully customised HERE.

The Flex-On Aluminium stirrups are made from a similar material to that used in aviation, which is renowned for its strength and lightness. Hunter Stirrups

The Flex-On Hunter Stirrups are specifically designed for the USA Show Hunter and Hunter Jumper market. Whilst those disciplines are not big in the UK, showing certainly is. We feel that this stirrup with plain magnet stickers, would be great for showing. As with the Aluminium stirrups, they weigh 1.2kg and have a very elegant feel. We offer these for sale in store and online. The main difference with the Hunter Stirrup is the elongated elastomer spring. This still provides the same shock absorption as the GC2.
