Hi everyone, it’s been a while so thought I would give you all a little update. So we finally have a date for when we can go out and play at a party and we cannot wait.

Back in January when lockdown was lifted slightly we took a trip to Frinton beach with a friend (who is in our bubble) and her ginger ninja. This was my first time riding on the beach, I didn’t quite know what Princess Angelina was going to think of it but she surprised me; she loved it ! We did a lovely bit of canter work followed by a cuppa and bacon sarnies back at the lorry. I am really looking forward to being able to go back with Buddy soon.

I have been super busy with work recently, also had my vaccine (whoop!), so my horses are still being ridden super early so I can get back home to log in.

Not knowing when the season was going to begin I was starting to get slightly worried that Badminton was going to be my first run, so I have been putting lots of effort in. Including different pole exercises, grid work and fitness work in the arena, to make sure both Angelina & Buddy were ready to crack on. They both feel absolutely awesome at the moment and are raring to go. We have also done some online dressage competitions for SWDRC. Buddy qualified for both the novice and intermediate championships, so 2 more tests to film and hopefully we get a good result at the championships. I have to say it was weird getting dressed up in all my competition gear and plaiting up just to ride at home!

Then came the 1st March and the devastating news that Badminton Horse Trials has been cancelled including the Science Supplement Cup. This is obviously gutting as I had both horses qualified and with both of them feeling on top form I was super excited. Unfortunately we won’t get to go for another year, so we will have to try extra hard to try and qualify for 2022.

We are now counting down the days before the first competitions back –  we are heading to Poplar Park to do arena Eventing on Good Friday and then off to the Jays for a spot of showjumping on Easter Sunday.
Good luck to everyone heading out competing!

Take care, stay safe x
