Spring has eventually sprung, and it’s been all systems go!

After what felt like an eternity of winter, it’s so refreshing to finally be witnessing some drier weather and be in the summer routine.

The older horses haven’t been up to much- in February we attended Northallerton’s Area Festival with Dram to only go and get placed third in a huge class of 30! We did have all our fingers crossed for a wildcard, but it wasn’t to be. This was his third time finishing third at an Area Festival so I’m hoping one day will be our time to qualify!

Elle on the other hand is in her 9th month of pregnancy and currently looks like a whale- It’s amazing seeing the difference in her, we’ve had a few moments of stress along the way and I’m now just counting down in her last trimester and I cannot wait to see what she has been cooking all this time!

The youngsters have been coming through and through. I’ve had the two 5yos (Erin and May) in more or less full work and recently have just been bringing the 4yo Seren into work too. They have all been getting out and seeing the world with dressage lessons, unaffiliated dressage and jumping hires, and it’s these moments that make it so special, looking back from the first time you sat on them to showing them the world. Unfortunately I’m now in the situation of having too many youngsters to juggle at any one time and it’s not fair on them as I’m unable to do all of them justice and I’m drastically needing to cut down on numbers so my brain has been rather frazzled having a play with them all to work out timescales and which ones to keep/sell etc.

This month we have finally made it back out to BD with Dram again, in desperate need of getting our qualifying scores for the Summer Area Festivals which in typical fashion I have left to do in the last four weeks. However we kicked our scores off on a high with three qualifying scores, winning all our sections and even winning our first ever attempt to music overall on 70%!
