Tara Murphy one of the younger riders in the Forelock and Load Team has very kindly given us a little write up.

My event season kicked off very well with a double clear at Isleham in the 100 Open on my new lovely ride Monbeg Maximus (aka Mumbles) owned by Jane Duncan. We then went to Poplar Park the next week with both the big boys who did great double clears. Mumbles finishing 6th in the 100 and Rolo finished 9th in the Novice!

Tara Flying!

The following weekend we trucked up to Lincoln with Rolo, where we got our personal best dressage score together for 30.8. These meant we finished 5th in the Novice. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season, the boys were feeling absolutely amazing. The postponing of any events is definitely the smart and safe choice – and I was l far luckier then most by managing to get 4 runs in.

Following the news of BE cancellation we decided to give the two big boys a few weeks off, as our ground is quite hard at home. They have both come out of this looking wonderful (Rolo slightly on the chubby side!). While the boys were off work, I stole my brother’s lovely pony to do some dressage boot camp. I needed something to help keep me sane between the A-level schoolwork which I am trying to keep up with!
I hope everyone is staying safe and following social distancing rules and can’t wait to get back out soon !
